The Euros are just about to get under way and the squads have been assembled – but who has the most expensive?
According to a new study by Profit Accumulator who looked at the most recent transfer fee of every player going to this summer’s tournament, it’s not the Germans or the host country, France.
Surprisingly, the Belgians are the money men at this year’s championship.
The Red Devils’ 23 man squad to the Euros are paid a combined total of £318.9m for their services.
Kevin De Bruyne cost Manchester City £55m. He’s followed by Christian Benteke (£32.5m), and Eden Hazard (£32m).
Germany’s squad cost the next most with a combined fee of £264.5m, while England have the third most expensive squad (£189.7m) followed by France (£183.1m) and Spain (£177.7m).
