LASSA FEVER LINGERS

As an effort to maintain better health in the society, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has declared an outbreak of Lassa fever, and activated an Emergency Operations Centre to coordinate the response.

TVC news said the declaration follows an increase in the number of Lassa fever cases reported from several states since the beginning of the year.

Meanwhile, the multi-partner, multi-sectoral emergency operations centre is activated at level 2.

The centre however, advises the public to focus on prevention by practicing good personal hygiene and proper environmental sanitation.
