These bitter rivals met in qualifying for Euro 2016, when Poland ended their 18-year winless streak in this fixture, beating Germany 2-0. The Germans enacted swift revenge, winning the return game 3-1 on the way to topping the group. Germany also have history on their side in this fixture. They’ve met seven times in competitive games, with Germany winning five of those matches. Adding another dimension to the game is the goal-scoring form of Poland star Robert Lewandowski, who plies his trade for German giants Bayern Munich.
