Federal Govt. Takes Over “N2.4 Billion” Belonging To “Patience Jonathan”

Former First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan has forfeited another N2.4 billion to the Federal Government.

The forfeiture came after Supreme Court gave the ruling on Friday, exactly eight days after it ordered the forfeiture of $8.4 million believed to be owned by former President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife to the Federal Government. This according to Todayng.

In the development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said the $8.4 million was discovered in some accounts linked to the ex-First Lady, the N2,421,953,522.00 was said to be held in bank accounts owned by Lawari Furniture and Bath Limited, a company in which Dame Jonathan allegedly has interest.

However, the judgement on Friday, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal by Lawari Furniture, filed and argued by Mike Ozekhome (SAN), saying it lacked merit.
