The vehicle which was cruised down from the council to Oba’s palace changed the story as shown highest of hospitality by the recipient. Oba Olawale in a continued appreciation and prayer remained happy for the surprise gift from the council chairman. According to him, this is record-breaking in the history of Kosofe Local Government Area. Legit9ja reports via SA to LG, Fadipe Taiwo.

Present at the occasion were: His Royal Majesty, Olojota of Ojota, Oba Olawale Cole, Chief of Staff, Hon.Fatai Gbadebo representing the council chairman, Councillor representing Ward F, Ojota, Hon. Muibi Ismael, members of the Press, ladies and gentlemen.

Presenting the vehicle, Hon.Gbadebo referred the decision as promise made and kept. According to him who stood in place of the chairman, it was indeed a memomentum:

“Well, it is like promise made and promise kept. When we were actually campaigning, the chairman visited our Kabiesi and solicited his blessing. In Yoruba land, the blessings of Oba are very important. Whenever we were campaigning, we came to the palac . One of the things Kabiesi actually requested from Hon. Afolabi Sofola is the need for a very befitting palace in Ojota and to also provide Kabeisi with a very Porsche car.

“I am elated and extremely overwhelmed because I have been putting pressure on Hon. Sofola as well the Councillor of our Ward to please do us a favour and make us proud. So we must give thanks and kudos to our Council chairman as well our leader, Hon. Bayo Osinowo for mandating this” He added.

It was revealed that since Lagos State government installed 8 Obas, vehicles were never maid available to ease their mobility. Indeed the story has changed for him after long period of time:

“On behalf of myself and my family, the council members of chiefs in Ojota, I hereby thank the Executive Chairman, and all executive members of Kosofe Local Government. My son Councillor, and my son also the Chief of Staff. So I thank you very much, especially the Chairman of the Local Government, my brother, Babatunde Sofola for making me very very happy. I am so delighted today for having a vehicle like this. That shows that a patient Dog eats the fattest bone! I appreciate you all, main Allah, the omnipotent, the council of Kosofe Local Government, I pray for the greatness and the chairman also, the officers in charge who brought the vehicle.

” This coming election, the one we want to do this Saturday, we shall be victorious. We are going to win the election and the chairman of the local government will be very happy and the governor also, this election coming he is going to be victorious. My son, Babatunde Okanlawon, may God be with everyone of you. In Allah’s name I pray, amen! I am very happy, the patient Dog has the fattest bone. I was installed as Kabiesi of Ojota Kingdom 3 years ago up till now. Every King or Kabiesi, anytime they install them, they give those staff of office. They will present them with a vehicle, but up till now, the state government has not presented car to anyone. 18 Kabiesi were installed by him but for my local government presenting me a vehicle, I have been so patient and that is why I say “a patient Dog eats the fattest bone”

Meanwhile Councillor representing Ward F, Ojota, Hon. Muibi Ismael testified the development :
“Firstly, I have to thank God for his mercies on us. The father has spoken, the king I call him my father. The local government chairman has done a very good job in recognizing the role of our Oba. Oba of Ojota is a very strong officer and he works for the development of the community but mobility is very important.”
