INEC Spells Jail Term For Cases Of Electoral Malpractices (Warning)

In a bid to forestall cases of electoral violence and malpractices during elections, in which many hooligans scatter polling boots with the aim of snatching boxes, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has therefore taken punitive measures on such cases.

As gathered from previous elections, reports from different parts of the country saw electoral violence upon violence.

As all is set to kickoff Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections come Saturday, 9th March, 2019, INEC warned members of the public to shun violence:

“Snatching or destruction of any election material is an electoral offence. The penalty is “24 months imprisonment”. Call INEC to report any misconduct during the Governorship & State House of Assembly Elections on: 0700-CALL-INEC (0700-2255-4632) #NigeriaDecides2019″
