Wizkid “Made in Lagos” Album will surpass all albums in Africa – See Why

Wizkid is set to drop his 4th studio album “Made in Lagos” in October 2019 under Starboy/RCA.

The album has been teased and talked about by the singer for about a year now.

Nigerian singer, Wizkid has been teasing his fourth studio album for the better part of 12 months.

The title, “Made in Lagos” is a direct reference to his Nigerian roots that lead straight to his Shitta (Small London), Surulere, Lagos beginnings. Fans and music enthusiasts expected the album to drop after the viral success of his single, ‘ Fever ,’ but it didn’t.

According to Wizkid “Made In Lagos” is going to be an EP for his record label acts, The Made in Lagos album is Wizkid’s attempt at regaining hold of the home scene after his foray into international waters with the Sounds From The Other Side album released last year. Released and distributed under RCA Records/Sony Music International, SFTOS sold 6,286 units in its first week.

On March 19, 2019, the singer hosted a live session on his Instagram page, @ wizkidayo and teased snippets to a few songs, presumably made for the upcoming album.

Three months later, on June 4, 2019, the singer took to his Instagram stories and posted the message, “ “Gong” blessed me highest level of vibration! #MadeinLagos ! Best I ever made. yes Fada!”

On Friday September 13, 2019, Wizkid released the first song off his “Made in Lagos” album titled “Ghetto Love”. The video topped Nigeria YouTube charts while the audio dominated Nigeria’s ITunes chart.

“Ghetto Love” is the First Afrobeat Song to makes it to NUMBER1 on US HIP/HOP video iTunes chart. It made WizKid the first Nigerian artist to have his song on TOP 50 US HIP/HOP ITUNE CHART.

Wizkid’s second studio album “Ayo” is still topping album charts within the country despite being released 5 years ago.

“Ayo” sits comfortably at the number 6 spot on Nigeria’s ITunes Album Chart.

Wizkid despite being the biggest artiste in and out of Africa, he is equally the face of Afro beat. The singer’s forth coming album “Made in Lagos” is about to replace and out perform “Ayo”.

Wizkid has heavily been criticized by media firms, fans and social media users for failing to replicate songs with dope lyrics as in his albums. The Starboy Entertainment boss will definitely shut the bad mouth with his ” Made in Lagos “.

He is still buzzing in US, India, Nigeria etc despite not being applauded at home.

Wizkid’s talent has never been questioned. Despite all the hate surrounding the afro pop star, no one abuses his talent. Its only but a choice of his to offer fans something extra ordinary or something out of their taste, but that doesn’t mean he can’t switch it up if he wants to. Wizkid is a lyricist as we have all seen in his three albums. Thus, Wizkid quality has appreciated following his performances on Beyonce’ Lion King Album, no doubt Wizkid has got of good and classic vibes on “Made in Lagos”

2. Collaborations

“Made in Lagos” as revealed by the artist will be a project filled with collaboration from local and international acts. A collaboration with Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Shaydee, Terri, Teni etc and Jamaican Legend Damian Marley.

Wizkid’s “Ayo” despite being released under local imprints Starboy Entertainment and Empire Mates Entertainment, “Ayo” is still buzzing. Today, Wizkid has a deal with RCA records to give him that international push.

Considering Wizkid’s discography and the successes behind his previous albums, Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos” is definitely going to be the biggest album out of Africa past and present!
