Accident on River Niger Bridge Injured 14 With Zero Recorded Death Case

Five vehicles collide at the River Niger bridge at the early hours of Thursday. The accident , which occurred around 10:40am involved a tricycle, Nissan, Hilux, Sienna and Hiace with a number of fourteen passengers in total.

It was gathered that the Nissan lost control after it was hit by the driver of the Sienna and it collided with the Hiace bus which hit the tricycle and Hilux respectively.

According to an eyewitness, he said the driver of the Sienna was on top speed, lost control and rammed into the Nissan and some passengers sustained various degrees of injury and where rushed to the hospital for treatment.

State Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Pascal Anigbo has confirmed the news saying a total number of 14 persons were involved with zero recorded death case. He also made it known that victims were taken to the hospital before the arrival of the FRSC from the Onitsha Unit Command and also, he warned drivers against driving above the stipulated speed limits stressing the disadvantage of their disobedience.
