Attempt Prison Break In Kaduna Correction Facility

Mr. Nathaniel Gagas, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kaduna Corretional Centre has confirmed an attempt by some prisoners to jailbreak from the correction centre.

It was gathered that the prisoners where scared that they might be affected by the deadly Coronavirus as a result of congestion currently in the correction centre. The Correctional facility which is located along the Independence Way in the metropolis of Kaduna a place where the leader of the Islamic Movement Nigeria known as Shi’ites Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife is currently held.

According to a resident who stays close to the correction centre said he heard multiple gunshots from the correction centre as some prisoners attempt to escape after protesting that they can be infected with the Coronavirus but there plan was unsuccessful.

According to Mr. Nathaniel, reinforcement from other forces (Army and Civil Defence Corps) were brought in to calm and control the situation. He also made it known that security at the correction facility have beefed up inside and outside the unit as there is no cause for alarm.

Meanwhile, the Shi’ties has warned that nothing whatsoever should happen to their leader and his wife who are also at the correction facility.
