COVID-19: I Volunteer To Donate My Blood For Study – Governor Seyi Makinde

As the world combats a common enemy, Scientist are in a search for a cure or vaccine to the Coronavirus which is killing people around the affected countries. Just as it has killed so many, a hand full has also recovered from the disease.

In Nigeria, one of the high profile names to have recovered from the Coronavirus disease is Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state after he was confirmed positive to the Coronavirus.

Governor Makinde who made it known that immune booster was his winning formula as he urged Nigerians to look locally to improve and boost their immune system. The Governor has also volunteer his blood sample for research in a bid to find the cure for the Coronavirus.

“We have been advocating for local solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic in Oyo State. So, as a COVID-19 survivor, I volunteered to donate my blood to be studied by our experts researching on the ‘Evaluation of Post Infection Protection Against SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) in Nigeria.” Governor Makinde said.

He went further as reported by the Punch to say, “We are looking at local solutions. I know that a lot of people have been calling me all sorts of names on the social media but, from my experience, one thing that I know you have to do to conquer the virus is that you have to boost your immunity. We do have local solutions and, of course, we have to defer to experts’ opinion as part of the home-grown solution to deal with COVID-19.
