Covid-19: Why There Are Few Corona Virus Recorded Cases in Nigeria – Opinion

The Corona Virus pandemic has only taken one life in Nigeria having affected over sixty lives. The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) in collaboration with World Health Organization and Lagos State Government has tried in every possible way to contain the virus limiting the spread insignificantly.

Nigeria being one of the most populous nations in the world has recorded fewer cases when compared to nations like China, United States of America, Italy, etc.

So far, the Corona Virus which was first reported in Wuhan, China has spread across several countries recording over 549,000 cases with 24,883 deaths.

According to WHO, There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The only solution as prescribed by World Health Insurance and other health bodies, is prevention.

1. In Nigeria, the rich are almost living in a different world. They hardly mingle with the poor. This means the virus hasn’t had a direct link with the major population of the country as it hasn’t been exposed to the poor masses.

2.Nigeria could be under testing or under reporting
