Coronavirus is not a respecter of any man, it has no social high ranking chip which detects the rich from the poor or the famous from the normal citizens as so many high profile names have tested positive to the COVID-19 virus. Government across the world have instructed a sit-at-home directive to enable to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus. Just like Funke Akindele (A.K.A Jennifer of Jennifer’s Diary), Kyle Walker is set to face disciplinary action for allegedly hosting a sex party.
Walker is the second high-profile Premier League player to have been caught flouting the government’s guidelines after Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish went to a party last weekend.
The Manchester City defender has apologised after it was reported by the Sun newspaper that he invited two call girls to his flat on Tuesday. Walker, 29 is set to face disciplinary actions from Manchester City for breaking Coronavirus lockdown conditions.”I want to apologise to my family, friends football club, supporters and the public for letting them down” Walker said. According to Manchester City, the club made statement “We are disappointed to hear the allegations, note Kyle’s swift statement and apology, and will be conducting an internal disciplinary procedure in the coming days. Our staff and players are making incredible efforts in fighting the effects of the COVID-19 virus, but his actions in this matter have directly contravened these efforts”.
The big question should be, what do celebrities see with parties? Funke Akindele and her husband hosted a birthday party in a time when the government of Lagos has instructed a sit-at-home directive. It is just so embarrassing because they are role models to so many and going against government directives is just a big disappointment to their reputation and everything they stand for and hold dearly. Trust Nigerians, Twitter Nigeria has called on the government of Lagos state to arrest Funke, her husband and all those who were present for the party.
