It is quite saddening as Lagos based Inter-State trader, narrated how she was heavily duped while trying to carry out an online purchase of goods from the North.

Trading in clothing materials, the first order which she consulted an unknown person via online platform. According to her, the transaction was to get her selected fabrics and collections from Jos (Northern part of Nigeria) where company sells at cheaper prize tag.

Unfortunately, the consignment went hanging as the so-called person who was to help her buy the materials and waybill across to Lagos kept unfulfilled promises after disappointment. This she wept and regrets bitterly talking to Legit9ja, in her words:

“I tried doing some online business but I was duped once, so I’m not going for that anymore.

…I sent a girl I don’t know money to help me get clothing materials from Jos of whom I saw her online.

…Actually she stays in Jos but she normally gets the materials straight from the manufacturering company.

…At a time she sent picture across showing a rapped carton having my phone number boldly written on it to show that the consignment was being sent over to Lagos. Expecting that the purported bus driver could call me when it gets here.

…Not knowing she did not send it at all, she just sent the picture to make me think she is not fake.

…After which she does not pick my calls anymore, I tried calling her with my friend’s phone. At times, she picked and dropped when I told her my name.

…Though unfortunate, I did not really tell anyone because she was always promising to send them across. Till now, all to no avail”
