Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna boy is not new to being dragged on Twitter for making controversial statements. This time he blasted Nigerians on his Instastory for not keeping the same energy used to drag celebrities to call out corrupt politicians, and he consequently got responses from Nigerians.
The 28 year old singer believed the fire accident at the office of head Accountant of Nigeria is a plot by the government to cover up financial plundering.
He said, in pidgin that Nigerians deserve the bad and irresponsible leaders we get. He also termed Funke Akindele ”innocent” and further asked for the same energy used to call out Funke, to call out corrupt politicians.
Twitter Reaction
Undoubtedly, Twitter Nigeria reacted to the glaringly false accusation thrown at them. Different people provided proof to show the changes that was implemented due to Twitter users.
Burna Boy's story made me realise one thing. The elite want to get away with everything they do because the government official get away with it too. No accountability, just vibes. If any group of nationals drag the government the most, it is Nigerians. It's a fact too!

Burna boy didn’t say any truth, he said nonsense. We have been calling out politician’s bullshit, we occupied Nigeria, we’ve done numerous protests, so I don’t understand what he saying, if there’s anything we’re missing, lead the frontline or advice

#Burna he laboured for everything he has. So what? Who used to buy your CDs, download your songs, attend your shows before you started gaining international recognition. The same Nigerians you said that they will suffer!! Perfect way to pay them back. Clown!!!

Burna Boy is a typical example of Not man can have it all.’ That you are wise in constructing lyrics that will sell, does not mean you are wise in other aspects of life. Talmbout “Nigerians never start” b*tch you’re a Nigerian. 🙄

Nigerians online pushed bank reforms,
We pushed for #LockdownLagos and asked govt to close all borders.
Pls where was Burna?
Can anyone tell me ONE positive activism Burna has ever done with his huge platform?
Burna Boy is a foolish hypocrite. https://t.co/UTm87Yzg3n
I think the mistake we Nigerians made was comparing Burna with Fela.
— Tife🌚 (@Tife_fabunmi) April 8, 2020
Fela was arrested for about 200 times & jailed severally for using his platform to speak against the corruption in GOVT & country.
But 2020-Fela thinks it’s the responsibility of only twitter users to speak.
All I can say is Burna stated the truth.

In Nigeria, a monkey ate money. Nobody talk.
In Nigeria, snake swallowed money. Nobody talk.
Now they’re about to give us lies about the finance fire
What Funke did was wrong and what we did was right, but let’s face the Government now
In a space of two days, Toke Makinwa, AY, Burna Boy and Naira Marley have insulted Nigerians for standing for what is right.
— Azeez Olajide ❼ (@zeezish_) April 8, 2020
I'm convinced this guys are actually worse than our politicians.
Although, Burna boy has deleted the video from his instastory, Nigerians are still giving him their truthful opinion in colourful sentences.
