Bayelsa Records It’s First Covid-19 Related Death.

Bayelsa State covid-19 task force announced in a press conference that the state has recorded it’s first covid-19 related death.

The covid-19 task force disclosed that the deceased was a military officer in his late forties, adding that the patient developed severe respiratory stress before his death.

The task force committee refused to reveal the identity of the deceased, but it stated that the patient was was isolated at Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri after he tested positive to the virus and was said to be in stable condition, before his health suddenly deteriorated and he developed severe respiratory distress.

Reports from the NCDC states that Bayelsa state at the moment has 12 confirmed covid-19 cases, with just one death recorded.
