A medical doctor has just lost his life to coronavirus in Kano state as 10 other doctors tests positive to the virus.
The chairman of NMA in Kano, Sanusi Mohammed Bala, today announced that a medical doctor had died in the state while 30 persons have tested positive to the virus.
Bala revealed that other doctors (about ten of them) also got infected with the disease while they were treating patients who later turned out to have contracted the virus.
Reacting to the development, Dr Abubakar Nagoma Usman, the president association of resident Doctors in the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), blamed the situation on the refusal of patients to give details of their health histories while in isolation centres. Usman stated: “This is more than the Lassa fever because some of the patients came without a classical symptom of the disease.
”Some of them even present no symptoms while sometimes, they will present with other symptoms of a different disease but when you get to see them, or when you start managing them, you will realize that they are already positive for COVID-19 disease.”
