COVID-19: Ogun State launch a ‘test and treat’ method

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has launched a new method he called the ‘test and treat’ to ensure everyone who tests for COVID-19 will be treated irrespective of their results.

Gov Abiodun disclosed this on his verified Twitter handle on Monday evening.

According to him, the move was part of his efforts towards stopping the community spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The new method, which the Governor described as “see and treat”, means people who presented themselves for COVID-19 tests will be treated, regardless of whether they are positive or negative.

DAILY POST reports that the Governor did not disclose if such persons will be taken into an isolation centre or not.

His words: “As part of efforts towards curbing the community spread of the Coronavirus, we are introducing a “see and treat” method in our testing centres. With this step, we will immediately commence treatment for everyone that comes for testing even before the results are out.”
