COVID-19: President Buhari Shares His Position Regarding the Use of Herbal Medicines

Nigeria’s president Mohammadu Buhari has revealed his position regarding the use of herbal or traditional medicine to treat COVID-19 patients.

He said that herbal or traditional medicines will not be used to treat COVID-19 in Nigeria unless approved by NAFDAC and WHO.

In his words,

“My position regarding all herbal or traditional medicines is that any such formulations should be sent to the statutory regulators for thorough scientific verification. We will not put anything to use in Nigeria without the endorsement of our regulatory institutions.”
