Lagos state doctors have resumed work fully, after the Nigeria Medical Association Ordered that they called off their strike.
The doctors went on strike following alleged police harassment of doctors as they commuted to and from work during a night curfew. However things have returned to normalcy after health workers were assured that they were exempted from the night curfew and that they can move freely.
Lagos state government had imposed the curfew so as to curb the further spread of covid-19 in the state. But the Police took laws into their hands and were alleged of harassing essential workers who were exempted from the curfew restriction.
NMA Lagos branch said the industrial action “is hereby reversed and our members are hereby directed to resume work from 6 p.m. today”.
