At least 20 members of the Boko Haram sect and Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) have been killed by the 130 battalion troops of the Nigeria Army.
Major General John Enenche, The Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, revealed that the terrorist were killed in a fierce encounter with the troops at the north-western part of Baga town in Borno State.
The Major General disclosed that the boko haram members who were armed with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades, and small weapons were on their way to attack villages surrounding Baga before the gunfight took place.
The Chief of Army Staff commended the soldiers for their professionalism and urged them to remain resolute towards eradicating the terrorists from the North East.
