Ondo Govt. Set To Reopen Churches & Mosques By May 29.

Ondo state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu says Mosques and Churches in the state would be allowed to hold services as from Friday, May 29 and Sunday, May 31 respectively.

Governor Akeredolu gave the directive in Akure on Wednesday during a press conference on update of coronavirus pandemic at the Government House.

The governor disclosed that the decision was made with consultations with religious leaders and relevant stakeholders in the state. Adding that other daily programmes within the week had not yet been approved for take-off.

He stressed that there must be strict compliance with social and physical distancing in places of worship.

Adding that all worshippers must wear face masks properly for the duration of the service, and that water, soap and hand sanitisers must be provided at all entrances, while worshippers must wash their hands.

Governor Akeredolu stated that that any worship centre that violated the rules would be closed down until COVID-19 is resolved.
