The federal government of Nigeria has denounced rumours that it would re-open schools across the nation on June 8.
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, announced on Wednesday during a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja, that the federal government denounced reports that it said it would re-open schools across the nation on June 8.
He stated that schools will resume when the government is sure that children can go to school, return safely, not contact COVID-19, and then infect people who are more susceptible to the disease .
Therefore schools will not be re-opening anytime soon, till all preventive measures are put in place by the government.
