CAF To Commence African Women’s Champions League By 2021.

After announcing that the 2020 edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has been cancelled due to the current coronavirus pandemic, CAF have also announced the launch of a new Women’s Champions League, which is scheduled to kick off in 2021.

This will see Africa become the fourth confederation hosting a continental Female club competition after South America’s Copa Libertadores Femenina, Asia’s AFC Women’s Club Championship and Europe’s Uefa Champions League.

It also opens the door for Africa to take part in the inaugural Fifa Women’s Club World Cup.

Earlier today, CAF also announced that the 2020 edition of the CAF Awards and AFCON 2021 will be postponed following the current challenging situations.
