Check out the state of Lagos after the heavy downpour (Photos)

During the early hours of today, there was a heavy downpour at the city of Lagos, with Lekki and Ikeja being the most affected areas. Streets, and major roads where filled with water as a result of the heavy rain.

This is not the first time Lagos state has experienced such a catastrophe, as such similar situation happened in October, 2019 and also on Sunday, 13 June 2020.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) the flood that was seen in most areas, has caused lots of traffic in major areas. Areas like; Rewane- Iju Road – Abule Ebga – Odo Eran/ Wemco Junction where affected, Ikeja – Along Lagos Abeokuta Expressway was also affected as there was a road block due to the flood and also Otedola Bridge – Gbagada – Osborne – Alfred roads were affected.

The heavy downpour brought out dirty from the drainage, that alone can stop the easy flow of water.
