Court Orders Orji Kalu’s Release From Prison.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu be released from the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.

The former Abia state governor’s release was granted by Justice Mohammed Liman on Tuesday morning after listening to an application filed by the former governor.

Senator Orji Kalu, had appealed to the federal high court to discard his conviction on December 5, 2019, by Justice Mohammed Idris.

The appeal comes after the Supreme Court, in its verdict delivered on May 8, 2020, held that Justice Idris gave the judgment without jurisdiction.
