Kidnapped or Run Away?: Seven-year-old boy goes missing in Abuja while playing

Is this a case of a kidnapped person, or a run away child? A seven-year-old Adamu Haruna, goes missing in Abuja (Kagini area) while playing in his place of residence.

According to reports from the family, efforts has been made to find him, as fliers with his picture were made. Adamu who is a seven-year-old, lost his father last December and was brought to Abuja by his uncle to further is education, but because of the lockdown, he hasn’t started schooling yet.

“I was at work last week Friday when my wife called that she couldn’t find Adamu and that she had looked for him in the area. She said Adamu was playing inside the compound and she later discovered that he was no longer there.” Adamu’s uncle said.

According to Adamu’s uncle, he said, the seven-year-old had not done such a thing before, but has been withdrawn to himself lately. He also claimed to have spoken to his father, to help inform Adamu’s mother as they resort to prayers and the help of the police.

The Police Public Relations Officer, FCT, Anjuguri Manzah, who confirmed the incident, stated that efforts were made to find Adamu and reunite him with his family.
