Oyo State gives a report on COVID 19 Situation

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde gives a report on the current situation of Coronavirus.

OYO STATE COVID-19 TASK FORCE UPDATE (for June 06, 2020)

The COVID-19 confirmation tests for thirty suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ibadan SE (11), Oluyole (8), Ibadan North (6), Lagelu (2), Akinyele (1), Ibadan SW (1) and Ibadan NE (1) LGAs. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 364.

These new thirty confirmed cases are results from the five community-based testing centres recently activated. This confirms community spread and requires strict adherence to the guidelines on social distancing, wearing of face masks in public and proper hygienic practices.

The Emergency Operations Centre will commence additional community-based testing at Oyo East, Itesiwaju and Oyo South Local Government Areas on Monday, June 08 2020. The community-based testing drive will take place in ten locations across the state.
