Real Madrid Win Espanyol 1-0 To Go Top Of Laliga Table.

On Sunday evening, Real Madrid edged past bottom placed Espanyol 1-0 to go top of LaLiga table, two points clear off Barcelona and with just six games remaining.

Frenchman, Karim Benzema thought he had an opener in the 36th minute but he was denied with a decent stop by former Madrid goal keeper Diego Lopez.

But it wasn’t up to ten minutes later, when he assisted Brazilian Midfielder, Casemiro with a beautiful back heel pass that led to the opener in the 45th minute.

Marcelo returned to the starting eleven after a while, as Hazard, Isco and Benzema led the attack for Real Madrid as they played away from home at Espanyol.

The win today sees Madrid at the apex of the La Liga table with 71 points, followed closely by title rivals Barcelona who are on 69 points.
