Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has been named Ligue 1’s top African player for 2019-20 with Lille’s Nigeria international forward scooping the Marc-Vivien Foé award.
Osimhen is the youngest-ever winner of the award at the age of 21, and came top of a poll of some 100 football experts across the media to succeed former Lille man Nicolas Pepe, the Ivory Coast international who joined Arsenal last summer.
Osimhen made a flying start in Ligue 1 scoring 13 league goals in his maiden season in France helped Lille finish fourth in the table, and he also made a significant impact in the UEFA Champions League and broke through at senior international level
