The trial of former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, N2.2 billion fraud case has been adjourned to October 20 by Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
According to media reports, the court adjourned the case due to the absence of the prosecution witness who was to testify for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC counsel, Rotimi Jacobs said that that the witness had informed him that “one of his family members was being quarantined in the Isolation centre.”
The Counsel subsequently asked the court, led by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke for an adjournment.Who then adjourned the case to October 20 for the continuation of the trial.
However, the Counsel to the former governor, Olalekan Ojo, did not oppose the request for an adjournment.
