Girl Commits Suicide In Lagos Over Continuous Fights With Her Brother

When we thought the abuse trend was over, we just recorded another, as a 20-year-old identified as Sherifat Suleiman, have committed suicide over alleged physically and psychological abuse by her own brother.

According to reports, the ugly incident happened in Isawo community, Ikorodu, Lagos State Nigeria. It was learnt that Sherifat committed suicide after her efforts to stop her brother from abusing her proved abortive. It was learnt that, she started living with her brother after the death of their father. How can an elder brother who should be protecting his own sister, is the one committing the evil act.

It was gathered that Sherifat consumed a substance believed to be an insecticide after she was beaten by her brother few days ago. Sherifat who gave up the ghost minutes after she was rushed to the hospital, was described by neighbors, as a loving and peaceful girl as she was also preparing for her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) before her untimely death.

Even though I don’t support suicide, it is really painful to go through such an ugly experience from your blood. May her soul rest in peace.
