Nigerian Air Force Loses Female Helicopter Pilot To Road Accident

Eight months ago, the Nigerian Air Force recorded its first female helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile, who was decorated by the Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar, and now, she has lost her life in an accident in Kaduna State.

According to reports, Arotile died in an alleged accident which took place at the Nigerian Air Force base in Kaduna State, as it was gathered that she didn’t recover from the injuries she sustained in the accident.

“They are not only female officers but outstanding aviators. While one of the two pilots is the first female fighter pilot in the 55 years’ history of the NAF, the second one is the first female combatant helicopter pilot.” Abubakar said during her recognition ceremony last year.

Marshal Sadique, the Chief of the Air Staff, has commiserated with the family of Arotile, as he prays that God should grant her soul an eternal rest. In another report, it was gathered that Arotile graduated as the best from her set as it was said that she lived “short but impactful life.”

This is not just big loss to the family of Arotile, but also to Nigeria and the Nigerian Air Force. May God give the family the strength to bear the loss of their love one.
