Obaseki Holds Virtual Meeting With President Buhari, Here Is What They Discussed

Few months to the Edo State election and some many untold stories have been going on, as Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State held a virtual meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, describing their relationship as that of a son to a father.

Governor Obaseki who was a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) left the party for the Peoples Democratic Party after he disqualified from partaking in the party’s primary. The primary was later won by Osagie Ize-Iyamu (APC flagbearer).

According to the Governor, the meeting was to discuss issues affecting the people of Edo state and the management of the current pandemic.

“My relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari is that of a father and son. I was on a zoom meeting with the President, during which we engaged on development issues affecting Edo people and Nigerians.” Obaseki said.

The election in Edo state looks more like a two horse race between Obaseki (PDP) and Ize-Iyamu (APC). We wait on the people of Edo to make their choice as majority carries the vote in the fourth coming election.
