English Premier league club, Watford have sold newly signed Pape Gueye to French side Marseille just 17 hours after he joined the club following a controversial comment he made.
Gueye was due to officially join Watford on Wednesday, July 1, as a free agent and had been registered as their player, after he was signed in a April for a monthly fee of around £45,000.
However, he denounced the contract, “claiming that he had been tricked into signing the contract with Watford under false pretences and claimed that all contractual ties with the Premier League side were meaningless.”
Following his controversial comment, Watford held talks with Marseille who have now announced the signing of the 21-year-old midfielder on a 4-year contract.
