Nigerian Comedian “Funbi Funbi” Stands Out His Creativity – Biography

Funbi Funbi, born Oluwafunmibi Samuel Olarinde in the year 1994, was born and brought up in Lagos. During his days in school he discovered an inner talent of making his classmates, friends and everyone around laugh effortlessly via simple conversations. He was always featured in school/church dramas and planning of upcoming events.

With almost a decade experience (dated far back as 2012) Funbi Funbi started Comedy while schooling at the Federal University of Agriculture of Abeokuta (FUNAAB) where he grew a Fan Base over the years, he planned and hosted an Annual Show tagged “XpressionWithFunbiComedious” recorded over 2000 people in attendance per edition, Funbi Funbi expanded the Brand for further reach and had a Debut show in Ilorin (March, 2016) before relocating back to Lagos after graduation.

Funbi Funbi rebranded in 2017 after many auditions, competitions (Alibaba Spontaneity, Laff Matters with Gbenga Adeyinka, Stand Up Nigeria, Lagos @50 by Governor Ambode etc) performances and self-hosted event as “Funbicomedious”, he didn’t want to be restricted to “just comedy” and began to speak to people with Serious Issues (On Radio – Naija FM 102.7, Schools etc.), also featured in Music Videos and Movies (behind the scenes and on screen) he was the floor manager for the Nollywood Blockbuster “THE WEDDING PARTY” – Church Scene.

He later had his Debut Show “FUNBI’S BUS, the 1st Trip…” in Lagos (July 2017), Funbi Funbi had a weekly comedy show (FUN BUS WITH FUNBI) at WFM 91.7, also spent his National Youth Corp Service Year (NYSC) working (still) as a Music Librarian/Voice Over Artiste/On Air Personality at MEGALECTRICS LTD (Owners of Beat FM, Naija FM, Classic Fm, LagosTalks FM).

After National Youth Corp Service Year, Funbi Funbi had his homecoming show “The Genesis with Funbi” in Federal University Of Agriculture Abeokuta (May, 2019) – a 2,500 student capacity.

Before having the second edition of “FUNBI’S BUS” – The Lagos life (August 2019), His comedy show “Funbi’s Bus”, 2020’s edition “My Story” was postponed due to Covid-19.

Funbi Funbi then hosted an Instagram Live Series with celebrities discussing Music, Fashion and Lifestyle, Arts and Culture (– with Dj Neptune, Timi Dakolo, Nike Arts Gallery, Kiki Osinbajo e.t.c) for months.
He believes as an Icon and happy soul, doing what makes everyone happy is something to be proud of.

This is a Live Show to be streamed on all social media platforms.
This show features ARTISTES, COMEDIANS AND ENTERTAINERS.
For each episode, FUNBI FUNBI will have guests come in to the studio and tell us a story (eg A comedian tells us a Story while performing, Musician tells us a Story behind his/her song while performing.)
This event brings an enlightenment on unknown, unheard or never imagined real stories behind some hits songs, jokes or contents.
This will keep you glued to your screens as you never know what to expect from each episode. This event would be channeled at raising financial supports for the Aged less privileged, during this economy crisis caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
