Opinion: Why Willian should pick Arsenal over a contract renewal at Chelsea

The bond in football is not just only on the pitch of play, but it can sometimes grow even outside, as the bond between Willian (Chelsea) and David Luiz (Arsenal) did not just start in Chelsea, were they both enjoyed wonderful seasons together, but also at the international level (Brazil).

The bond between Willian and Luiz grew stronger, as they are both co-owned a restaurant in London known as ‘Babbo’. Life happened and Luiz was shipped to arch rivals Arsenal (Arsenal won Chelsea 2 goals by 1 in the just concluded FA Cup final, with Luiz playing a vital role, while Willian was unable to feature due to injury).

The current situation in Chelsea seems complicated as Willian is out of contract, and it’s alleged that Arsenal are interested in signing the Brazilian on a free transfer. It feels like a good news for Luiz, because if the deal pulls through, he will see his friend and co-business partner again.

For me, Willian still has the ability to play for any top team in England as his abilities, pace, and eye for goal is something to watch out for. Willian will be a very good upgrade to Pepe, who has failed to stake claim to that wing position. Moreover, the arrival of Willian will totally lift the Arsenal dressing room, as he is a winner, and can inspire the team to success (my opinion).
