Few hours before their first Premier League encounter with Wolves, Manchester City have announced that key player, IIkay Gundogan have tested positive to the current pandemic.
According to reports, IIkay Gundogan is now observing the 10-day period of self-isolation in accordance with the UK Government protocol and Premier League rules. Gundogan will automatically miss the first game of the season as he will be joining the likes of super striker, Aguero, (has been injured since last season) and defender Aymeric Laporte (tested positive too and the game against Wolves comes too soon for him).
According to City Boss, Pep Guardiola, new signee, Nathan Ake has been encouraging and may have the chance to start for the club. “We bought him as a Centre-back but sometimes he can help us as a full-back. I have been encouraged by what I have seen from him.” Guardiola stated.
