“Anonymous did not hack our website, it is secured”- CBN debunks website breach rumors (Photos)

Who is ‘Anonymous’? One of the most asked questions as Nigerians seek to know the name or place a face to their own self-acclaimed ‘Robin Hood’ who took responsibility of releasing police records and allegedly taking control over NBC (National Broadcasting Commission) twitter handle.

Few hours ago, the news that the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been hacked by online hackers, came as a shock to most Nigerians as all finger was directed to the ‘Anonymous’.

The AG. Director, Corporate Communications of the Central Bank, Osita Nwanisobi, has debunked such news as he said the website of CBN is still secured. Nwanisobi went further to advise members of the online community to desist from peddling false rumors and news as it has a way of affecting Nigerians.

“Contrary to claims in the social media alleging that the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been breached, we wish to state categorically that our website is secure. We also wish to advise members of the online community to desist from spreading false news.” Nwanisobi wrote.
