ASUU Set To End Strike As FG Pay N30BN Earned Allowance.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, might be calling of their six months strike soon as they reached an agreement with the Federal Government on Thursday.

The Federal Government agreed to release N30bn earned academic allowance to the university lecturers in tranches between May 2021 and February 2022. It was also learnt that the FG promised to spend N20bn on the revitalisation of the education sector.

However the both parties have not come to a final agreement yet as a conciliatory meeting is to reconvene by October 21st. By then ASUU might agree to call off the strike.

As for now the strike is still on.
