“It makes no sense for oil to be cheaper in Nigeria”-Nigerians react to President Buhari’s message

In a time when the country celebrates another milestone, Nigerians have taken to micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to respond to message from the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari as he addresses the nation on this special day, 1 October 2020.

In a part of President Buhari’s message, which highlighted on the increase of petroleum price in the country; where he made it known to Nigerians that other oil producing countries including African countries, charge more when it comes to petroleum product (Fuel) compared to Nigeria that sells at N161 per liter.

“Egypt charge N211, Saudi Arabia Charges N168, Chad charges N362, Niger charges N346 and Ghana charges N326 per liters. It makes no sense for oil to be cheaper in Nigeria than in Saudi Arabia.” President Buhari stated.

Nigerians on social media (Twitter) reacted different to President Buharis’s message, as they feel the countries mentioned above have better minimum wage compared to Nigeria.
