Popular Nigerian gospel minister, Nathaniel Bassaey has just revealed the reason why he isn’t participating in the #EndSARS nationwide trend.
The gospel minister revealed that he was in support of the protest, but he believed that the prayers we have been praying are being answered and that ENDSARS protest is only a starter to the main courses yet to come.
“People keep asking me to use the #tag. Here’s why I’m not so big on it. What I’m seeing is MUCH BIGGER than endsars. So I’m not limiting my posts to that. I’m seeing a totally NEW NATION! And I want my tweets to go way beyond sars. People! Our country is ABOUT TO CHANGE FOR GOOD!”
“PLEASE! No attacking, disrespecting and bullying policemen. Let them know this is not a fight against them, but in fact, for them. Pray for them, Show them love & let them know we are not what they think we are. As we demand an end to Brutality & oppression. In the end WE ALL WIN”
Nathaniel Bassey also revealed that he was once brutalised and maltreated by unidentified SARS officials some years back. So he understands what the fight of the Nigerian youth is about.
“I shared how a few years ago I was abducted by plain cloth policemen, driven away to an isolated place. Phone seized and cash taken. So I understand what oppression is.
I know what is feels like for those meant to protect you to oppress and almost kill. So I feel the pain too.” He added.
