JUST IN: President Buhari Finally Speaks On #EndSARS Protest, Police Reform.

The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has finally responded to the ongoing protest for the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) across the nation.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the disbanding of the police Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) is only the first step in his administration’s effort to the commitment to extensive police reforms.

The Nigerian leader made this known on Monday, October 12, in an address shared on his Twitter page while speaking on the agitations of Nigerians regarding excessive use of force, extrajudicial killings, and wrongful conduct by men of the Nigeria police.

He also added that officers responsible will be brought to justice.

He said:

The disbanding of SARS is only the first step in our commitment to extensive police reforms in order to ensure that the primary duty of the police and other law enforcement agencies remains the protection of lives and livelihood of our people.”
