Meet Kevin And Cyriel, The Newest Eagles As They Prepare For Algeria And Tunisia’s Match

As Nigeria prepare for the match against Algeria (October 9, 2020) and Tunisia (October 13, 2020), the latest members of the Eagles have been introduced to the fans as they share their love for the country and to the ‘Green White Green’.

Kevin Akpoguma is a German-born Nigerian who plays centre back for 1899 Hoffenheim. Born on 19 April 1995, Kevin represented German under-16 and also under-21, before answering the call of the Nigerian Football Federation.

In a chat with newsmen, Kevin stated his satisfaction and joy to be part of the new shaped Super Eagle team. “Hello my name is Kevin Akpoguma, I play for 1899 Hoffenheim. I’m very happy to be here as I left the country when I was just 6-year-old. It’s also a great experience as everyone is happy and preparing for our qualification”.

Another member of the team who is also answered the call for the first time, is, Cyriel Dessers, who plays for Belgium side, Genk. Cyriel was born December 8, 1994 and plays the forward position.

Cyriel also spoke to newsmen as he introduces himself to the Nigerian faithful saying; “Hi my fellow Nigerians, I’m Cyriel Dessers and I’m a striker who plays for Genk in Belgium. I’m really happy to be here as this is my first call-up. It is a dream come true. I can’t wait to be on the pitch playing games and also to meet you the fans. I hope to see you soon”.
