Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) Suspends The New Service Based Tariff For Two Weeks

What a time to be a Nigerian, as the electricity tariff hike in most states have been suspended with the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc joins the suspension of increased tariff.

In a tweet that was shared by the official handle of PHED, it informed its esteemed customers that the suspension will be for a period of two weeks as within the stated weeks, the tariff for all customers will be based on rates applicable before the increase.

“Dear Customers, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc, wishes to inform its esteemed customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers State, that it has complied with the order from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, to suspend the new Service Based Tariff, SBT, for two weeks. Within this period, the tariff for all customers shall be based on rates applicable as at 31st August 2020. Thank you for your continued support.” PHED tweeted.
