5. MICHAEL BALLACK

Former Chelsea midfielder and German national team legend, Michael Ballack was one great player who fell short of winning the prestigious UEFA Champions League trophy. He lost in the finals on two different occasions. One was when Bayer Leverkusen lost to Real Madrid in 2002 while the other was when Chelsea lost to Manchester United in 2008.

4. DENNIS BERGKAMP

Award-winning Arsenal football club Icon, Dennis Bergkamp was another great football who was never able to win the UEFA Champions League trophy. The closest time he ever came to winning the trophy was in 2006 when his Arsenal side lost to Barcelona in the finals.

3. GIANLUIGI BUFFON

Italian goal keeping legend, Gianluigi Buffon, happens to be one of the greatest footballers to miss out on winning the UEFA Champions League trophy. Buffon came close to winning it on several occasions but lost in the finals, one was in 2003 when Juventus lost to AC Milan, another was against Real Madrid and Barcelona.

2. ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC

Despite switching to several great football clubs, Swedish football legend, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has failed to clinch the prestigious UEFA Champions League trophy.
