“I Have No Regret Proscribing IPOB In Rivers State” Governor Wike Reveals

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has issued a statement concerning the unity of the State, as he stated, he is not regretting proscribing the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

According to a shared information on the official Facebook page of the Governor, He said, Nigerians must at all times protect and defend the country and not allow politics or any form of group cause division or destroy the unity of the country.

The governor commended the peaceful #EndSARS protest in the state, as according to him, it was peaceful and had no form of violence until it was hijacked by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Governor Wike who made statement on the Oyigbo Local Government, said the curfew was made after the killing of 6 Army officers, 4 police men, burning of police station and court buildings and a counter clash between ethnic groups in the Oyigbo area of Port Harcourt and also, he has nothing against any particular ethnic group living in the State.

“Without any apology, I am a true Nigerian. I believe that things must me done properly, in a way that every component part of the country will be satisfied.” Wike said.
