Man who murdered his girlfriend in a hotel room blames the devil

A 31-year-old Rexlawson Johnson has been arrested by the men of the Ogun State Police over the gruesome murder of his 26-year-old girlfriend, Patricia John in a hotel room in Ibafo, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

After lot of investigations and interrogations by the police, Johnson confessed to the crime as he disclosed that they both went to the hostel and later had a misunderstanding, which led to physical assault and she collapsed and gave up the ghost.

“I didn’t mean to kill her, we were lovers and it’s normal for lovers to have misunderstanding. He had physical fights, and the next thing she was dead. I was afraid so I sneaked out of the hotel room. Please I’m sorry forgive me, it’s devils work.” Johnson said.

Prior to the investigation, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that the victim had bruises on her neck, suggesting that she was strangled or was in a struggle. The hotel managements made the report to the police when they discovered a dead body in one of their rooms during rooms routine check.
