NCC Orders Telecom Operators To Block All SIM Cards Not Registered With NIN By End Of 2020.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has ordered all telecommunications operators across the country to block all SIM cards not registered with National Identification Numbers (NIN) by the end of 2020.

At a meeting presided over by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, it was decided that all subscribers are to provide valid NIN to update SIM registration records.

Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, NCC spokesperson, said submission of NIN by subscribers must take place from December 16 to December 30. Otherwise all SIMs without NINs are to be blocked from the networks.
