Barley 24 hours after the Nigerian Communications Commission NCC, gave the new directive on SIM registration, which involved updating with National Identification Number (NIN), many subscribers have been in a confused mood as to how, the method of this updating is being carried out.
According to the Honorable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim, stated that, “The submission of NIN by subscribers to provide valid NIN to update SIM registration records. The submission of NIN by subscribers to take place within two weeks, from December 16, 2020 and end by 30 December 2020.”
In a tweet that was later shared by the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, informed Nigerians on the steps of registration, as the process has been made easy, as no one has to visit the office of their network subscribers to make the updating.
“I have just submitted my National Identity Number (NIN) to my network provider, MTN for verification. Good to see they have made the process easy, you don’t have to visit their office and do it physically, just visit mtnonline.com/nim/ to submit yours.” Bashir Ahmad tweeted.
