According to eyewitness reports armed policemen and soldiers have recently been deployed at the Lekki Toll Gate Ahead of another #EndSARS protest in the state.
As at last weekend Security operatives in the country have warned youths against marching out again in their call to end SARS, a disbanded arm of the Nigeria Police Force.
Also the Lagos State Police Command had threatened to shut down any form of protest in the state, and warned youths not to engage in the fresh planned protest against Police brutality.
The warning was handed down on Sunday in a statement by the spokesman of the Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi who noted that the state can’t accommodate any form of protests as it is yet to heal from the effects of the last #EndSARS protest
The new development comes after Protesters were reportedly killed in a shootout by military men at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020.
Recall that the #EndSARS protests across the country which took place in October were hijacked by hoodlums leading to the destruction of properties and loss of lives.
The hijacking of the #EndSARS protest also saw numerous prisoners set free, while businesses were looted and destroyed.
